CPG SPEND STILL ELEVATED

In the new stage of Home-Confined Buying starting on Mach 22, average household grocery spend remains elevated—23 percent higher than Pre-COVID-19 Buying levels. Shoppers are beginning to return to a grocery basket mix reminiscent of pre-COVID-19 shopping patterns, adding more food and drinks to their carts, and fewer household cleaning and paper products.

Average U.S. household CPG spend remains elevated in home-confined buying stage at the beginning of April 2020.
