John Stermer is a marketing industry thought leader who draws on 35 years of proven success in driving revenue at the world’s largest consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies and retailers. He leads sales efforts for the rollout of the company’s industry leading television solutions. John’s diverse business experience and leadership skills enable Nielsen Catalina Solutions to execute a sales strategy that helps clients leverage the full value of their investment and wins significant agreements with target clients.
John joined Nielsen Catalina Solutions from PromoWorks where he was Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales. Through the innovative application of frequent shopper loyalty card data, he pioneered the measurement and ROI exclusively attributed to in-store shopper marketing programs.
Prior to PromoWorks, John was Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at GOLIATH Solutions, a privately funded start-up providing the only source of real-time promotion execution and financial performance information to consumer package goods manufacturers.
John spent 12 years as Senior Vice President at Nielsen, six leading new business development and six leading the U.S. client service organization. He has served as a faculty member of the In-Store Marketing Institute and has been an active member of the Food Marketing Institute, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the Marketing Executive Networking Group.
John is a graduate of Colorado State University and holds a BS degree in Management Information Science/Marketing. He reports to Nielsen Catalina Solutions Chief Executive Mike Nazzaro and is based in Chicago.
